At Thebes in Greece a blind woman fasted on bread and water on the vigil of the feast of St. Francis, and early on the morning if the feast her husband brought her to the friars' church. During Mass she opened her eyes at the elevation of Christ's Body; she saw it clearly and adored it devoutly. Even as she adored she cried out and said to all those who had turned round when she shouted, "Thanks be to God and his saint! I can see Christ's Body!"
