"God is teaching us over and over again that it is He who is purifying us, not we ourselves. He does this in His own way, at His own pace. When we run ahead of Him he leaves us on our own and we usually stumble."

Dear Chris,
ReplyDeleteYour spiritual ambition is admirable. My sense of this is that you are now ready for God's joy to flow into your soul. Put aside the sorrow, and follow the path of Blessed Julian of Norwich who said, "The greatest honor you can give to Almighty God is to live joyfully because of the knowledge of his love."
You have been tested like Job, and proven worthy in your fidelity to your spiritual goal. Now it is time to lift up your heart and have a new confidence in God's love.
Jesus said, "I have told you all this that your joy may be full." And that is what I say to you.
IN his love and joy,
Father John Catoir
