Let us have charity and humility, and let us give alms, for almsgiving washes the soul of the filth of sin.
For we lose everything we leave behind in this world, but we take with us the merit of the charity and the almsgiving we've practiced and for which we will receive from the Lord a reward and worthy recompense.

Thank you Brother for all of your postings.
ReplyDeleteDearest Ccheryl-
ReplyDeleteThank you, although I cannot take credit for any of my postings. I have simply taken them from the Omnibus of Sources and other books written on the early Franciscan movement.
I am reminded here of Admonition 6:
...we, today's servants of God, expect glory and honor simply because we can recite what they did.
I concur with ccheryl 100 percent, and brother lesser, we know you aren't looking for any glory and honour here. You're doing the Lord's work, and we appreciate this means of learning about Franciscan spirituality.
