One day St. Francis heard a brother insinuate to a poor man who was begging alms,"How do I know you're not really rich and pretending to be in need?"
When Francis, the Father of the Poor, heard this, he was deeply saddened. He severely rebuked the brother who had dared to utter such words and ordered him to strip before the beggar and beg his pardon, kissing his feet.

I love this story because it happens in ministry so many times! We set ourselves up as owners of resources and then judge who is worthy to receive them. Ha! One of many ways we do the opposite from the example God gives us!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Happy Easter brother!
Thank you for your comment.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. When people came begging to Jesus, he didn't send them to government officials so to be "qualified" as recipients. He simply supplied them with their needs.
God bless!
