October 3 - The "Transitus" (Death) of St. Francis of Assisi


At the time of his death, St. Francis was placed thus upon the ground, with his garment and sackcloth laid aside. He raised his face to heaven said to his brothers: "I have done what was mine to do; may Christ teach you what you are to do."
