Remain Hidden In The Wounds Of The Savior

Portiuncula Pond in Jerusalem, Ohio

With joy-filled devotion Brother Francis dwelt in the heavenly mansions and in complete self-emptying he remained for long periods hidden, as it were, in the wounds of the Savior. He therefore sought out solitary places where he could cast his soul entirely upon God.

  1. Oh, how important are those solitary places (at least, for me -- and I assume for most). What a beautiful pond!

  2. So many people are afraid of solitary places because of the direction their minds might wander. If they would simply give God a chance to slip in, undetected, into the quiet of their hearts, they would never die of thirst!
