Supreme Knight of Columbus Calls For A Long Overdue Change on Abortion

,Supreme Knight of Columbus Calls for Real "Change" on Abortion and Catholic Revolt against Obama Nation

"It's time we stop accommodating pro-abortion politicians, and it's time we start demanding that they accommodate us."

By Peter J. Smith

QUEBEC CITY, Canada, August 7, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - With an electrifying speech from the Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus on Tuesday, the Catholic fraternal organization has begun mobilizing its members for one of the most ambitious political operations since Roe v. Wade: liberating the Catholic vote from pro-abortion politicians.

Supreme Knight Carl Anderson addressed the 126th annual convention of the Knights of Columbus, the world's largest Catholic fraternal organization, in Quebec City and pledged the Knights to fight abortion promoting politicians, who buy Catholic votes with their stand on other issues.

"We have heard a great deal this year about the need for change," said Anderson in a clear reference to the mantra of Barack Obama, the presumptive pro-abortion nominee of the Democratic Party. "But at the same time we are told that one thing cannot change - namely, the abortion regime of Roe vs. Wade."

"It is time that we demand real change, and real change means the end of Roe vs. Wade," he said.

In contrast to other Catholic social justice issues like poverty and the death penalty, Anderson asked delegates, "What political issue could possibly outweigh this human devastation" of nearly 50 million abortion deaths in the US since 1973?

"The answer, of course, is that there is none," Anderson said.

He added, "Abortion is different. Abortion is the killing of the innocent on a massive scale."

"It is time to put away the arguments of political spin masters that only serve to justify abortion killing."

Anderson then committed the Knights to "end the political manipulation of Catholic voters by abortion advocates," whom he accused of entangling "Catholic people with abortion killing."

"It is time to stop creating excuses for pro-abortion candidates. Catholics should no longer be asked to be partners in the abortion regime by voting for politicians who support abortion."

"We will never succeed in building a culture of life if we continue to vote for politicians who defend and support a culture of death," said Anderson to thunderous applause from the assembly. "It is time that Catholics shine a bright line of separation between themselves and all those politicians of every political party who defend the abortion regime of Roe vs. Wade."

The Knights of Columbus speech comes at a critical time in this election year, especially with Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi once again justifying her advocacy of abortion and same-sex "marriage" while publicly describing herself as a "faithful Catholic," despite the jarring juxtaposition.

In 2006, Pelosi and other pro-abortion leaders of the Democratic Party regained power in Congress by running a handful of pro-life Democrats and wooing back Catholic voters who supported George Bush on abortion and other social issues in 2004. However, Anderson says that this election cycle the Knights are determined to send both Democrats and Republicans this message: the pro-life vote is a Catholic vote and abortion advocates need not apply.

"Imagine if this year millions of Catholic voters simply said 'no' - 'no' to every candidate of every political party who supports abortion," he declared. "It's time we stop accommodating pro-abortion politicians, and it's time we start demanding that they accommodate us."

THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, 50 MILLION ABORTIONS SINCE
ROE V WADE, GAY MARRIAGE: 2 MORE CHURCH SCANDALS!
The Massachusetts Legislature, in joint Constitutional Convention on 14/Jun/07, defeated the efforts of 170,000 signatories to put traditional marriage on the ballot in 2008. At least 16 Knights of Columbus caused the defeat: Speaker Sal DiMasi, House Maj. Leader John Rogers, Reps Garret Bradley, Bob DeLeo, Stephen DiNatale, Chris Donelan, Chris Fallon (a Mason), Kevin Honan, Paul McMurtry, Charles Murphy, Bob Nyman, Angelo Puppolo, Bob Spellane; Senators Michael Knapik (Past Grand Knight), Tom McGee, Michael Morrissey (Mass.gov). These K of C Reps voted $750K for gay programs in public schools. K of C Senators voted on 22/May/08 to increase it to $850K. In Jul '08 they (except Puppolo) repealed a 1913 law, thus allowing same-sex couples from all 50 states to marry. 7 K of C: DiMasi, Bradley, Donelan, Honan, Murphy, Spellane & McGee have Planned Parenthood's top ratings (PPLMvotes.org). PP are the USA’s biggest abortionists - 289,000 in 2006 (PlannedParenthood.org).

State Deputy Dick Guerriero failed to suspend Pro-Abortion politicians I exposed, but he signed an open letter endorsing Mitt Romney, who introduced gay marriage and flip-flopped on abortion! Ray Flynn, K of C, former Vatican Ambassador, voted for Pro-Abortion Hillary Clinton (Boston Herald 6/Feb/08). In Dec 2005, Cardinal Sean O’Malley, K of C, let Catholic Charities give an award to Mayor Tom Menino, a Pro-Abortion Catholic who leads the Gay Pride Parade every year. City Councilors Michael Flaherty and John Tobin, both K of C, also marched. Fr. Walter Cuenin is a K of C homosexual advocate. On 4/May/08, Supreme Advocate (lawyer) Paul Devin, who gave money to Pro-Abortion politicians Ted and Joe Kennedy (OpenSecrets.org), ruled a State Convention resolution by GK Joe Craven to suspend Pro-Abortion/Pro-Gay politicians was "unconstitutional".

Pat Korten, VP for Communications, said that Pro-Abortion K of C members are “irrelevant” (Boston Herald 11/Aug/2007). In Aug 2005, Past Supreme Knight Virgil Dechant told Ken Fisher, President of CRCOA, that Pro-Abortion politicians will never be expelled. Joe Mauro, Exec. VP Agencies and Marketing ($386,321/yr, retired 2001), said on tape c. 1991: These Pro-Lifers are “real fanatics” and “radicals”. The Pope's declaration of Fr. McGivney as Venerable was exploited by Supreme Chaplain Bishop Lori as "a ringing affirmation of the Order he founded" (Columbia, May '08), while the K of C's morally decayed leadership fail to suspend or expel the many Pro-Abortion and Pro-Homosexual politicians and members, and bishops fail to excommunicate them!

I was in the top third as a K of C insurance agent: Lancer E. Division Report, y-t-d June '99. General Agent Rodney Shropshire, showing great hostility towards my Pro-Life work, reassigned me to a small poor territory. Months later, he terminated my contract as a “failure”. VP Agencies, Tom Smith ($355,911/yr), countersigned his lie. Letters to Supreme Knight Virgil Dechant ($2,164,805 in '00, on retirement) and SK Carl Anderson ($1,120,045/yr) are unanswered. Sup. Treas. Deacon Ken Ryan ($208,181/yr) wrote lies, then claimed his signed letter wasn’t his! SD Tom Ledbetter suspended my membership. My appeal was rejected as "late" by Sup. Adv. Paul Devin ($377,431/yr), and by Sup. Board of Directors at a show trial held without my knowledge. Both lied.

The March for Life has little credibility when it gives prominence to SK Carl Anderson, who welcomes Pro-Abortion politicians in exchange for tax exemption. To ensure no conflict of interest, insist your politicians treat K of C councils as tax-free and K of C Home Office as a taxable insurance company. Do not cancel your valuable K of C policies in protest, but if you need more life insurance buy it elsewhere. Write, or sign below and mail.

Dear Mr. Anderson: Your refusal to expel Pro-Abortion/Pro-Homosexual politicians and members, 50 million surgical abortions since Roe v Wade, requires your resignation as Supreme Knight. Paul Devin must also resign. A vow to protect unborn children must be a membership condition. With $14 billion in assets, the K of C must forgive “Church Loans” of $120 million, lent at 5.5% interest, and help needy dioceses & Pro-Life groups.

  2. God bless you, John!

Unfortunately, I look at the Knights of Columbus as an organization that began as a very holy cause that somehow turned into a "good ole' boys" network consisting primarily of Booze Hounds that like being able to go out and party hearty on Sundays. Is it any wonder our Protestant brothers and sisters look at them with such disdain? But that's the message we have chosen to proclaim!
