Nice to see something attributed to Thomas Merton, he is not a really welcome site by many Catholics. However I love his writings .

Thomas Merton is beloved by a large number of Catholics. Zeal toward him began to wane once he began embracing Eastern Mysticism to the detriment of the far greater depths of Mystical Prayers within his own faith; i.e...the Desert Fathers, St. John of the Cross, et al.
