Francis the servant of God was now stripped of all worldly things and free to serve the divine justice. He held his life of no accountg and dedicated himself to the service of God in every possible way. He returned to Saint Damian, gay and full of fervor, clothed in a hermit's garment; and he reassured the priest of the church with the same words that the Bishop had addressed to him.
