Our Heavenly Inheritance

St. Francis once said, "Dearest brothers, the Son of God was more noble than we and he made himself poor for us in this world. We have chosen the way of poverty out of love for him; we should not be ashamed to go out and beg for alms. It is not right for the heirs of the kingdom to be ashamed of their heavenly inheritance. I say to you, there will be many noble and wise men who will join our Order and who will consider it an honor to beg for alms..."

Celano, Second Life
Chapter XLIV

  1. Hi Fra Chris

What humility we could learn from dear St Fancis if only we would heed his words. What a gift from God this holy saint is. I enjoy these little quotes so please keep them coming.

    Thanks and God bless you.
