The original Portiuncula of St. Mary of the Angels in Assisi, Italy
Before entering the Order, one of the friars had a vision about the Portiuncula. He saw a huge crowd of blind folk kneeling in a circle about the curch and looking up to heaven. With tearful voices and outstretched hands, they cried out to God, begging Him to have pity on them and give them sight. Then a brilliant light descended from heaven and enveloped them all, giving them back their sight and the health they longed for.
