"Listen" And "Silent" Are Spelled With The Same Letters

The Pond at the Portiuncula Hermitage in Jerusalem, Ohio

At certain times the blessed and venerable father Francis left behind the crowds of the world that were coming together daily with the greatest devotion to hear and see him, and he sought out a quiet and secret place of solitude, desiring to spend his time with God and to cleanse himself of any dust that may have clung to him for his association with men.

  1. When God made us He made us in His image and likeness. The only difference being, He made us from dust. Unfortunately, we carry these little "dust balls" around with us for the rest of our lives. This can be both bad and good. It's like spending time in deep, deep prayer in the dark quiet of
the church, only to have a couple old people, who happen to both be hard of hearing, strike up a conversation that echoes within the empty walls. It is then that you remember that God made us human, with all the frailties that implies, and He built into us the noise, chatter, and all the debris that makes us who we are, and why He loves us so much, and why we should likewise love all His people as much as He does (and that includes their "dust bunnies").
