The Spirit Receives The Body And Blood Of The Lord

The Spirit of the Lord, who dwells in his faithful, is the One who receives the Most Holy Body and Blood of the Lord; all those who do not partake of the same Spirit and presume to receive the Lord, eat and drink to their own judgement (1 Corr. 11:29) .

  1. We were just speaking, over at ccheryl's, of God recognizing Himself in us, and here we see God receiving Himself in us. I love this post, brother lesser.

  2. Thank you, gabrielle. When I came across this excerpt, I immediately thought of all those who "Go through the motions" at Mass. It really doesn't mean anything to them, it's simply something they've done since childhood. I know...I've been there myself!

Then we receive the Spirit, and we simply can't seem to get enough.

Don't you just love the way God takes over our lives when we invite Him to? Just as Brother Francis, we become a new kind of fool!

  3. Ccheryl, you cracked me up with your "smells and bells!"

If you're real old fashioned in your middle age, then I must be really old fashioned at my age as an old goat!
