Fear Of The Lord

Where there is fear of the Lord to guard the house, there the enemy cannot find a way to enter.

Admonition 27

  1. Fear of the Lord has been explained to me as being similar in human terms, to the kind of care you would take not to disappoint your parents or people who love you. Like the desire you would have to make them feel loved, and how you would express that love, that is generated by gratitude and love itself, more than 'fear'. Wouldn't there be a better term for this in English?

  2. dI like Fr. Michael Sanlan's says concerning "fear of the Lord" ;
    Today, we can't so much understand fear of the Lord because, after all, isn't God a loving and caring God? To understand fear of the Lord, we must first look at what it is we fear in life;your job, your children, your spouce, whatever. Therefore, fear of losing or being seperated from God because of sin is "fear of the Lord."
